Modern Home Design - Mr.Tan's Residence by Chrystalline Artchitect

Mr.Tan’s Residence is an Modern Home Designed by Chrystalline Artchitect, located in Jakarta, Indonesia. The initial idea in designing this Modern Home Design is to create a home with good air circulation and natural lighting. The main building is made lengthwise toward the back to create a large garden which is located in the east of the building as a personal view. Therefore, all the openings of the building are directed into the garden to avoid the heat of the sun coming from the west in the afternoon.

Aim of creating a flow of air into this Modern Home Design is achieved by utilizing the difference of level between the guest room and the master room. With the gap between them, it is possible to create a constant air flow into the garden. This idea is also supported by the scenery, which is slightly tilted, as a way for air to enter the inner courtyard. This landscape also worked as a camouflage in the living room lower level, because it emphasizes on the east side of the structure that will emerge as a one-leveled building with only the master bedroom.

Because this Modern Home Design facing north, we created a large surface to the west, which is projected out to function as a heat buffer for the openings in the master and guest bedrooms. With a lower opening, the intensity of sunlight into the room would not be too large. The surface is covered with a special marble skin yearn to produce accents in the entire building facades. In the western building, room service, which includes powder room, stairs and master bathroom, primarily designed as a heat buffer.

In the living areas, we create the maximum opening, without any obstruction to see as far as 12 meters and glass without a frame, without columns, to create an atmosphere of greater space and blend with the natural flavor. On the side of living areas, reflecting pool is built along the main room accented with wood deck, just below the child’s bedroom.
